How can I import my assets and metadata in AudioSalad?

AudioSalad enables users to both manually import assets and perform bulk catalog ingestion. Manual uploads are handled directly within the platform’s simple-to-use interface. For bulk ingestion, AudioSalad supports multiple methods, including an Excel spreadsheet template, DDEX delivery, and more.

Where are my assets and metadata stored?

AudioSalad’s expertly architected cloud infrastructure utilizes Amazon Web Services (AWS) to store your content. There are multiple layers of redundancy in order to guarantee that your assets are backed up and accessible by your team and partners. We use best practices in cloud engineering to ensure that your content is secure and highly available.

What audio files types does AudioSalad support?

AudioSalad supports WAV, WAV-HD, FLAC, FLAC-HD, MP3, Dolby Atmos (Spacial Audio), MQA, Apple ADM (formerly known as Mastered for iTunes) as the core audio media formats. AudioSalad also supports H264 and Pro-Res video (HD and 4K) for music video delivery. In addition you can store, archive and share Word docs, PDF’s, video (including HD video), text files, music production files (Ableton Live, Protools etc.) and more.

Does AudioSalad support other asset types in addition to audio and images?

Yes, users can securely store videos, lyrics, store print resolution artwork, multi-language liner notes, digital booklets, other digital assets.

Can I export my assets and metadata from AudioSalad?Yes, AudioSalad enables simple download of audio, images, and metadata CSV files within the platform. Additionally, custom exporters can be set up in order to export your catalog in industry standard formats, including DDEX. AudioSalad clients can export their full catalogue at any time.

Does AudioSalad support custom metadata fields?

The structure of releases and metadata fields in AudioSalad is standard for all users, but certain customizations can be applied within this standard structure. For example, users can create their own unique categories, labels, tags, comments, and other custom settings in order to effectively organize their catalog. We often see our clients create new workflows and custom practices for managing their catalogs within the AudioSalad platform.

Does AudioSalad support physical product metadata?

AudioSalad enables users to enter limited physical product metadata for sale, including format, SKU and pricing. These fields enable physical products to be created and sold alongside digital downloads on Shopify stores.
